In 2021 I created two cartoons explaining how the homelessness charity works that were both on the Together in Barnet home page. The main issue was a policy of not showing faces of the charity's clients, and the Operations Manager was not keen to be in front of the camera.
Animation was the obvious solution, however to use proper software, like Adobe Character Animator, would have been expensive and taken a long time; I used a cheap and cheerful piece of software called Toonly that had a lot of character animation built in. However it took a lot of work anyway, especially in the script-writing and structuring, and I had to add a lot of my own illustrations for it to make sense.
I produced a second animation to explain how our traditional business model changed completely during the pandemic. For both films I was extremely lucky enough to work with theatre actress Kim Ismay (Wicked, Mamma Mia) who produced the stunning voice-overs.
