I produced a logo for the house, as it opened to the public for tours and events, using the front projection from the architectural plans, as it has the widest frontage in Europe. I designed business cards for staff and several leaflets. I also designed a second, alternative logo, which I took from an architectural feature, and was printed on a Christmas tree bauble.
The style had to be somewhat traditional - the house has been around for over four hundred years. It also had to convey the impressive nature of the estate: this is a double-fronted stately house with more state rooms than any other in the country. The plan was to create divisions of the public-facing business - house & garden tours, events (weddings, concerts, shows), tea-rooms, locally-produced food and drink, merchandise etc so I wanted to make a logo that could be adapted and added to.
